last night as you slept
I lay my head on your chest,
closed my eyes
wrapped your arm around me.
listening to you breath,
the wind howling outside
I wondered how much you loved me?
where we meant to be forever?
hearing my unheard question you rolled over
enveloped me with your arms
warm and safe
i reached up and kissed your chin
snuggling closer
your breath lulling me to sleep
a smile on my face
as a sigh of bliss escapes my lips
this morning as our babies awoke
you lifted your arm
the babies crawled in
between us snuggling close
our arms enveloping them
our fingers entwining
we look at each other and smile
a collective sigh is heard
we snuggle closer
kissing their sleepy heads
we start our morning
